| What is a CHCM campaign? |
A workplace giving campaign is an annual period during which organizations come together to give back to the community and get involved in charitable causes. At this time, employees can make a contribution to CHCM through payroll deduction. Some choose to have a specified amount deducted from each paycheck- others make a one-time lump donation. Employees may designate their pledge to a specific member charity that is important to them, or they can simply contribute to CHCM and give to all 27 member charities. In addition, the campaign season is a chance to host charitable fundraisers to garner extra funds for CHCM and stimulate employee involvement. From loose change drives and candy grams to live performances by a band composed of staff members, the options are endless! Find the events that suit your workplace culture to bring employees together while raising money for a good cause.
Most organizations hold their campaign during the fall, usually for two or three weeks. By collecting payroll pledges early, you can be sure that CHCM receives your information by December and can easily begin the payroll pledge process for the following calendar year. CHCM Client Services will help you plan the campaign to fit your schedule and your needs.
Once you decide to hold a CHCM campaign, you will want to choose a Campaign Coordinator. The coordinator is responsible for planning the campaign, making sure it runs smoothly and collecting all pledge forms for the wrap-up. Depending on the size of your organization, you may want to appoint a couple people or possibly a planning committee to share the position. CHCM Client Services works directly with campaign coordinators to custom-build your campaign and assist you throughout the entire process, from planning to wrap-up.
