Resources for Individuals and Caretakers
The Lupus Foundation of Minnesota offers a wide variety of resources for persons with lupus and their caretakers. Those resources include:
Employee/Individual Resources
- Care and consulting: Individualized sessions for newly-diagnosed individuals in a personal and confidential venue.
- Wrap Program: Organized to reinforce services and provide structure by employing all the resources available to the client.
- Workshops: Innovative themes designed to gather those with lupus and their support network in a fun, non-threatening environment to learn about lupus and gain practical coping skills.
- Support groups and buddy system available to meet the needs of people with lupus who are looking for someone with similar experiences to share.
- Horizon Emergency Grant was established to help individuals with lupus pay for expenses not covered by other resources.
- Fall seminar tailored for individuals with lupus, their families, and friends.
- Information packet, with information about the types, symptoms, characteristics, and treatment of lupus.
- Newsletter: Minnesota Lupus News is mailed quarterly to our members.
- Counseling: One-to-one counseling with lupus clients and their loved ones. Discuss specific concerns and create action plans.
