Combined Health Appeal of Minnesota

1986-1994

  • The Minnesota affiliate of Combined Health Appeal was founded by seven charter member health charities.
  • It was formed to obtain financial support for health organizations through workplace giving (payroll deduction) programs.

 

The HealthFund of Minnesota

1995-July 2000

  • The Minnesota affiliate withdrew from the parent CHA organization, and formed an independent legal entity - The HealthFund of Minnesota. 
  • The federation grew to represent 20 non-profit health charities in Minnesota.
  • The federation reached a milestone of $1 million in Total Public Support

 

 

Community Health Charities Minnesota

July 2000-Present

  • Combined Health Appeal of America and the National Voluntary Health Agencies merged to become Community Health Charities.
  • Community Health Charities has 48 affiliates across the United States.
  • The HealthFund of Minnesota became an affiliate of the national Community Health Charities organization July 1, 2000.
  • The Minnesota affiliate retains its legal name - The HealthFund of Minnesota - doing business as Community Health Charities Minnesota.
  • Community Health Charities Minnesota represents 33 of the state's premier health organizations.
  • Community Health Charities Minnesota currently currently raises nearly $3 million in Total Public Support.

 

 

Odds are you know Somebody

In 2003, Ruth Bachman (pictured with her granddaughter) was diagnosed with cancer.  Her hand and forearm were amputated that June.  "It is important to put a face on cancer and chronic illness.  I'm grateful to be that face for CHCM."
